Gutter clogged with leaves
As we move into spring, we all notice the melting of snow and welcome the rains. What you may not notice is the fall leaves clogging your gutters. If your gutters get clogged in the fall or with debris from a winter storm, rain water will push back up onto your roof instead of draining away. This can result in water potentially getting in your home through the roof. This can lead to many problems such as mold in an attic or a collapsed ceiling in a room.
There are a couple of things that you can do to prevent these problems. You can start by checking your gutters regularly, in both the Spring and the Fall, to make sure they are clean. You can also invest in gutter guards or screens. These work well to keep the leaves out of your gutters but will still need to be checked.
