Midland County Flood 2017

2017 was a hard year for Northern Michigan. Not only was Isabella County struck with floods that happen once in hundred years but Midland and Bay Counties were affected as well. SERVPRO was honored to be a part of the storm team, disaster relief that was able to provide assistance to these counties in Michigan.

On Wednesday, June 28. In Midland County, the second hardest-hit of the four counties, roads and bridges sustained about $13 million in damage, county officials said.

The Tittabawasee River, which was cresting Saturday afternoon at 32 feet -- the second-highest flood stage reached since recording began, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Local states of emergency were declared in Midland, Isabella and Bay counties, and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley declared Isabella and Midland counties disasters, setting the stage for state and federal relief for recovery from the flooding.

Midland and Isabella counties received roughly 4 to 7 inches of rainfall overnight Thursday-Friday of June 22nd and 23rd
